What are quantum dots?

Quantum dots (QDs) are tiny solution-processable semiconductor nanoparticles with extraordinary properties. While their initial discovery took place decades ago, they've only recently started to make their mark on mass market commercial products. At their tiny scale, quantum dots exhibit unique quantum properties, which distinguish them from larger particles. One of the most notable features of quantum dots is their size-dependent optoelectronic properties. This means that their ability to absorb and emit light can be precisely tuned by changing their size or composition.

InQs™

Through our extensive R&D efforts and experience, we have mastered the unique properties of quantum dots and have developed our own proprietary synthesis method for our InQs™.  Our patented technology allows for a the scalable fabrication of semiconductive quantum dot-based films with varying thickness, ranging from nanometres to hundreds of microns.

Depending on the type of quantum dots, film thickness, and device architecture, we are able to fabricate a large variety of optoelectronic devices for different applications. We have extensive experience in making and stabilising the dispersions of quantum dots for direct deposition of semiconductive films, fabrication of quantum dot films by various solution-processable techniques, making and characterising optoelectronic devices, patterning, and encapsulating quantum dot films.
