1 out of 8 of mammograms result in a false negative and 50% of women getting annual screening over 10 year having a false-positive. 

QDI systems is on a mission to improve the accessability (cost), safety (dose) and accuracy (image quality) of mammography. By introducing quantum dot ink to this market, QDI systems is the only company in the world developing a new and improved direct conversion material for X-ray. 

The initial product introduction for X-ray will be in the field of mammography where we work with industry leading detector and X-ray companies. Following this initial product introduction the portfolio will expand to further x-ray applications such as, CT and interventional X-ray.

Below graph explains that the quantum dot layer has a higher X-ray absorption in the energy range used in mammography for the same thickness compared to existing technologies which can result in a larger Detective Quantum Efficiency (DQE). The higher absorption is described by the linear attenuation coefficient of Pb-based semiconductors being almost 3 times larger than that of current direct conversion materials, such as amorphous Selenium, in the mammography range
